Newly disclosed documents from the Epstein files revealed advice from a PR firm, Osborne & Partners LLP, following Epstein’s 2008 guilty plea to child sex trafficking crimes. The firm suggested highlighting Epstein’s charitable endeavors and scientific support while emphasizing the importance of avoiding any connection with Andrew and Ferguson.
The document highlighted concerns about media coverage linking Epstein to the “Prince Andrew/Sarah Ferguson. Bill Clinton Axis” and recommended distancing Epstein from them to facilitate a reputation recovery. The advice focused on minimizing distractions and not specifically addressing the allegations against Andrew, which he has vehemently denied.
Referencing certain UK newspapers, the email underscored the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday’s targeted efforts against Prince Andrew and cautioned Epstein against being associated with him. The document stressed the necessity of completely avoiding any involvement with the couple to reduce interest and potentially establish a positive relationship in the future for favorable coverage.
The message detailed a strategic plan to enhance Epstein’s public perception, including addressing negative online content related to his criminal charges and association with Andrew. The PR firm intended to engage experts from Israel, secure positive profiles from columnists and editors, and promote Epstein’s contributions to science and technology research to support his image rehabilitation.
Furthermore, Epstein’s dedication to science and technology initiatives was highlighted as beneficial to his reputation recovery. Long-term objectives, such as supporting the Gates Foundation’s malaria eradication goal by 2015, were also considered in the rehabilitation strategy.
Epstein faced additional charges related to child sex trafficking in Manhattan in July 2019 before his death by suicide while in custody awaiting trial the same year. Recently, Andrew and Ferguson faced further scrutiny in the Epstein scandal due to their continued correspondence with him despite previous claims of cutting ties. Ferguson expressed regret in an email for publicly criticizing Epstein and referred to him as a “close friend,” leading to consequences for both of them in terms of their royal and charity affiliations.
The royal couple has been directed to vacate the Royal Lodge and relocate, with Andrew losing his titles and Ferguson facing repercussions from various charities due to their involvement in the scandal.
