“Prince George Joins Royal Family at Festival of Remembrance”

Date:

Prince George made his debut appearance at the Festival of Remembrance in London, joining the Princess of Wales, the King, and the Queen at the Royal Albert Hall. The event, which marked the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 25th anniversary of the UK government lifting the ban on LGBTQ+ personnel serving openly in the armed forces, was broadcast on BBC One at 9 pm.

Accompanied by Sir Keir Starmer and Lady Victoria Starmer, the Royal Family was greeted with trumpets as they took their seats in the royal box. Notable performances included Sir Rod Stewart, Sam Ryder, Keala Settle, and military bands. The festival also honored veterans, including D-Day planners, former prisoners of war, and survivors of wartime tragedies.

While the Prince of Wales was absent due to his return from the COP30 UN Climate Change summit, the King will lead a national two-minute silence at the Cenotaph in London on Sunday. The event concluded with the royal family leaving the venue, with Kate Middleton elegantly dressed in an Alessandra Rich black dress, a handmade poppy by Izzy Ager, an HMS Glasgow brooch, and earrings from the late Queen’s collection.

Throughout the evening, the Princess of Wales was seen engaging with Prince George, pointing out various aspects of the event to him. The Festival of Remembrance was a poignant and respectful occasion, paying tribute to the sacrifices and service of the armed forces.
