Amanda Holden has expressed her views on the rumored candidates being considered to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing. Daly and Winkleman recently revealed their decision to step down from the show after co-hosting for more than a decade.
Several well-known personalities have been suggested as potential successors, including Bradley Walsh, Zoe Ball, and Alex Jones.
During a discussion with her colleagues Ashley Roberts and Jamie Theakston on Heart Radio Breakfast, Amanda hesitated about Bradley as a replacement and emphasized her preference for female hosts.
She mentioned her support for Alex Jones and Zoe, stating her inclination towards female candidates. Amanda highlighted the excitement of guessing the new hosts and the variety of potential choices.
In a previous discussion on the show, Amanda acknowledged the challenge of finding suitable replacements for Tess and Claudia. Without naming specific individuals, she criticized some of the suggested names as uninteresting and encouraged thinking outside the box by considering past show participants.
Ashley, a former Strictly contestant, playfully tossed her own name into the mix, expressing enthusiasm for the opportunity. Amanda acknowledged the commitment required for the role but expressed confidence in Ashley’s ability to handle it.
Tess and Claudia confirmed their departure in an Instagram video, expressing gratitude for their time on the show and emphasizing their intention to leave together. They thanked the BBC and the entire production team for their support.
The current series of Strictly continues with Tess and Claudia as hosts, with nine dancing pairs vying for the coveted Glitterball trophy.
