“Wrexham Man Arrested for Online Chemical Sales Linked to Suicides”

Date:

A 33-year-old man named Miles Cross from Wrexham, north Wales, has been taken into custody for allegedly vending chemicals online that are believed to have contributed to two possible cases of suicide. The arrest was made in January, and North Wales Police have linked two deaths to the sale of a particular substance through four parcels. Cross faces four charges of intentionally engaging in actions that could endorse or aid another individual’s suicide. The law enforcement agency stated, “A 33-year-old resident of Wrexham has been formally accused in connection with two suspected suicides in the UK.” Cross was officially charged on Friday, September 12, under Section 2(1) of the Suicide Act 1961 for the four counts of intentional actions that could encourage or assist in someone else’s suicide.

Furthermore, two fatalities are under investigation in relation to the four parcels containing a substance that was distributed online. The accused will be presented before Wrexham Magistrates Court on Thursday, October 16, for legal proceedings. Malcolm McHaffie from the Crown Prosecution Service mentioned, “We have opted to press charges against Miles Cross for four instances of encouraging or facilitating suicide following a police inquiry into a business that was selling a substance via an internet platform.” He added, “Our legal team has diligently worked to ascertain the presence of adequate evidence to bring the case to trial and determined that it is necessary to pursue criminal charges in the public’s interest. We have collaborated closely with North Wales Police throughout their investigative process.”
