An inquiry has disclosed the reason behind the tragic death of a devoted Oasis fan who fell to his demise during a concert at Wembley Stadium.
Lee Claydon, aged 45, passed away on August 2 following injuries indicative of a fall, as stated by the police. Reports indicated that the landscape gardener from Bournemouth fell from the upper level of the stadium as the sold-out concert was concluding. Lee attended the event with his brother Aaron, niece, and nephew.
The inquest into the father’s passing was initiated at Barnet Coroner’s Court by senior coroner Andrew Walker. It was revealed during the inquest that Mr. Claydon was rushed to a medical facility in Wembley after the incident, where he was pronounced dead at 10.38 pm.
A post-mortem examination conducted on August 6 identified the preliminary cause of death as “multiple bodily injuries.”
Detective Inspector Aimee-Leigh Sando mentioned during the inquest that the police investigation into Mr. Claydon’s death was ongoing, with no definite timeline for its completion. She stated, “We are examining all evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements. Numerous individuals have come forward with information following our appeal.” The inquest was adjourned until a pre-inquest hearing on November 19.
His father, Clive, previously asserted that his son slipped on beer, leading to his fatal fall, and emphasized that Lee was not intoxicated. Clive stated, “There was spilled beer on the floor, creating a slippery surface, causing Lee to slip and fall. It was a tragic accident waiting to happen. All we know is that there was beer on the floor, he slipped, and the rest is unknown.”
In a heartfelt tribute shared on social media after Lee’s passing, his girlfriend Amanda expressed her deep sorrow, reminiscing about their bond and the future they had planned together. She pledged to remain strong for their children and cherished memories of their time together.
A fundraising campaign organized by Lee’s brother Aaron has surpassed its initial goal, raising over £30,000. The funds will support Lee’s immediate family, honoring his memory as a devoted family man and role model to his son Harry.
