“Catherine Zeta-Jones Faces Backlash Over Comment to Young Fan”

Date:

Catherine Zeta-Jones, a renowned Hollywood actress, is facing criticism for a remark she made to a young fan who approached her for an autograph. The 55-year-old Welsh star has gained a significant following, particularly among the youth, following her role as Morticia Adams in the popular Netflix series “Wednesday.”

During an appearance on the Late Night show with Seth Myers, Catherine shared an incident where a 12-year-old boy approached her while she was playing golf with her 80-year-old husband, Michael Douglas. Describing the boy as “really cute,” Catherine humorously remarked that when she turns 70, the boy would be 33, eliciting mixed reactions from viewers.

Following the comment, host Seth jokingly inquired if Michael could tell when Catherine was mentally calculating such scenarios, to which she playfully responded. Some viewers defended the exchange as light-hearted banter, while others found it inappropriate.

Critics took to social media platforms to express their disapproval, with some labeling the comment as “creepy” and questioning the appropriateness of discussing a child in that manner. Despite the backlash, Catherine, who recently celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary with Michael, remains unapologetic about their relationship, emphasizing the love and joy they share.

The Mirror has reached out to Catherine’s representatives for their response to the controversy.
