“Costa Coffee Branch Shut Down in Marlborough”

Date:

The closure of another Costa Coffee branch has been noted, contributing to a growing tally of more than twelve branches that have shut down in the past year. The Marlborough High Street Costa outlet in Wiltshire concluded operations last month, leaving the local residents disheartened.

Local reports indicate that the Marlborough High Street premises have been completely cleared, removing all visible Costa branding. No official reason has been disclosed for the closure of this popular coffee shop.

A Costa representative confirmed that the store ceased serving customers on July 17, 2025. This closure follows a recent warning issued to UK households regarding Nescafé coffee products.

The spokesperson informed the Gazette and Herald that “the majority of our skilled team members have been relocated to other Costa Coffee stores in neighboring areas.” Local residents expressed sorrow over the loss of their beloved café, with one regular describing it as a significant loss for Marlborough, while another expressed disappointment, highlighting the shop’s reputation as a top coffee spot, as per reports from the Express.

This downturn could be attributed to a two-year consumer boycott following events in Gaza, impacting brands like McDonalds, Starbucks, and Zara.

According to The Standard, the following Costa Coffee outlets have closed since September 2024:
