“GO Train Service Disruption on Kitchener Line This Weekend”

Date:

Metrolinx has announced that there will be no GO trains operating on the Kitchener line between Stratford and Mount Pleasant station this weekend due to essential track upgrades. Commuters traveling to or from Toronto will need to utilize bus services from Kitchener or Guelph GO stations to reach alternative stations. Kitchener passengers can take a bus to Bramalea GO for train connections or continue to Hwy 407 bus terminal for access to TTC Line 1 to Union Station. Guelph and Stratford travelers will be bussed to Mount Pleasant GO.

During the weekend, GO train services will only be available between Mount Pleasant and Mount Dennis GO stations. Passengers at Mount Dennis GO station can transfer to TTC services to reach Union Station. Late-night service adjustments are expected on Friday night, with minor schedule changes on Monday and Tuesday. Eastbound trains departing from Stratford, Kitchener, and Guelph will leave two minutes earlier, while westbound trains from Union will arrive two minutes later at Guelph, Kitchener, and Stratford.

Normal service is anticipated to resume by Wednesday, as Metrolinx undertakes crucial groundwork for a second track and corridor enhancements along the Kitchener line.
