“Toronto Police Officer Injured in Robbery Shooting”

A Toronto police officer sustained injuries after being shot during a robbery investigation in the early hours of Thursday. Responding to a report of a stolen e-bike, officers found a suspect in the vicinity of Bloor Street E. and Sherbourne Street at approximately 3:21 a.m. According to Toronto police spokesperson Stephanie Miceli, the suspect discharged a weapon, injuring one of the officers. The wounded officer was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Details on the officer’s condition were not disclosed by Toronto paramedics, who directed inquiries to the police. The suspect was apprehended, and a firearm was recovered at the scene. Miceli confirmed that the investigation is currently ongoing.
