Topshop and Topman are poised for a significant comeback to the retail scene next year through a fresh collaboration with John Lewis. Starting from February 2026, Topshop items will be available in 32 John Lewis stores across the UK, while Topman products will debut in six selected locations.
The renowned British fashion brand shuttered all its physical stores in 2021 following its acquisition by ASOS for £330 million after the collapse of Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia Group. Currently, consumers can only purchase Topshop merchandise through the ASOS website.
Despite this, the popular fashion retailer announced its intention to make a permanent return to brick-and-mortar stores after hosting a successful pop-up event at Defected Records in east London earlier this summer. Additionally, Topshop recently relaunched its dedicated website.
Peter Ruis, the managing director of John Lewis, expressed confidence in the partnership, anticipating high demand from customers. Michelle Wilson, managing director of Topshop, echoed this sentiment, citing positive feedback from customers eager to see Topshop back in physical stores.
Notably, the former Topshop store in Oxford Street was recently taken over by Ikea. The Grade II listed building at 214 Oxford Street, acquired by Ingka Investment after Arcadia’s administration, underwent renovation work starting in 2022. Originally slated to open by autumn 2023, the project faced delays due to various challenges, including water leaks in the basement.
The three-story retail space offers approximately 6,000 products, with 3,500 available for immediate purchase and the remainder accessible through home delivery, click and collect, or off-site collection options.
