An American mother dubbed as the “worst ever” has been arrested and charged with sexual assault for reportedly giving birth to a child fathered by her daughter’s 14-year-old school dance partner.
Robyn Polston, aged 43, was apprehended by the Washington Police Department on November 3. Court records indicate she is accused of delivering a baby in January, allegedly fathered by her daughter’s teenage acquaintance.
Polston is facing two charges of criminal sexual assault involving a victim aged between 13 and 17, along with two counts of possessing child pornography. If found guilty, she could potentially serve up to 15 years in prison for each offense. Currently, she is in custody without bail and is scheduled for arraignment next month, with no plea entered yet.
A probable cause affidavit revealed that authorities initiated an investigation following a tip post-childbirth. After obtaining the baby’s birth certificate on February 13, detectives noticed that the newborn shared the same middle and last name as the alleged victim.
When questioned about the father’s identity, Polston reportedly named a man named Brian in his twenties, claiming he had been out of contact since the birth.
Subsequently, DNA samples were collected from Polston, the infant, and the teenager, confirming the biological relationship between the boy and Polston. Investigators also discovered that Polston had supervised a school dance attended by the teenager and her daughter in May 2023.
A search warrant executed on Google accounts linked to the teenager’s phone uncovered explicit images and videos involving Polston and the minor. Assistant State’s Attorney Cassandra Mullikin reviewed the material, determining that Polston was the one capturing the images.
Prosecutors alleged that Polston and the minor used burner phones and disguised each other’s contact details to evade detection. Furthermore, it is claimed that Polston attempted to persuade the teenager to hide evidence of their relationship.
Prosecutors have requested that Polston be detained until trial, citing concerns about her compliance with orders and potential contact with the teenager.
She will remain in custody until her court appearance on December 4.
