“Winnipeg Nightclub Security Charged with Assault on Basketball Player”

Three security personnel at a nightclub in downtown Winnipeg are facing assault charges following an incident that left a Winnipeg Sea Bears player with serious injuries earlier this month, according to police reports. Teddy Allen was reportedly assaulted at the nightclub on August 3 and had to be hospitalized, as confirmed by the Canadian Elite Basketball League team. The security staff members, aged 35, 37, and 58, were apprehended on Wednesday and charged with assault causing bodily harm. They have since been released on undertakings.

While the specific nightclub was not disclosed by the authorities, it was noted to be located on Main Street, between Portage and William avenues. Allen, who has undergone medical examinations and received treatment, is now recuperating at home, according to a statement released by the team. The player expressed that the assault was unjustified and should not have occurred, emphasizing his resilience and determination to overcome the setback.
