The Windsor Police Service announced the arrest of a 27-year-old man on charges of impaired driving following a car collision with a residence. Responding to the incident on Armanda Street close to Malden Road around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, law enforcement discovered the vehicle lodged on the front lawn of the house, its front bumper in contact with the front steps. The driver was found inside the vehicle displaying telltale signs of impairment such as bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, instability while standing, and struggling to remain alert. Subsequently, the driver was apprehended and transported to the Windsor police headquarters for a breath test, which indicated a blood alcohol level exceeding double the legal limit. The individual faces charges of impaired driving. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the accident, although the house sustained over $10,000 in damages.
