The focus of their attention seemed to be a unit situated behind Dugdale Nutrition, with authorities swiftly cordoning off the area. Observations from the scene revealed police presence on the second floor of the unit, where a specialized hazardous response team from the fire service also conducted assessments, confirming normal gas levels within the vicinity.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police confirmed the unfortunate demise of a 45-year-old man as a result of the industrial incident.
