“Survivor’s Love: Helen Remembers Nick, 10 Years After Bataclan”

Date:

Helen Wilson, 59, the partner of the British man who tragically lost his life in the Bataclan terror attack, has expressed her enduring love for him as the tenth anniversary of the devastating event approaches. Nick Alexander, a merchandising manager, was with Helen when armed assailants stormed the music venue in Paris on November 13, 2015. Despite sustaining gunshot wounds to both legs, Helen cradled Nick in her arms and made desperate attempts to revive him through mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

In a recent social media post, Helen penned a heartfelt tribute to Nick, reminiscing about their shared experiences and expressing her everlasting love for him. She reflected on their past moments together and how she is now navigating life without him, carrying on his legacy while traveling the world. Helen fondly remembered their favorite meal, Filet mignon, paired with green beans, Mac n Cheese, and whiskey, as she continues to cope with the irreplaceable loss of her beloved Nick.

Nick, aged 35 and from Colchester, Essex, was one of the 90 individuals who tragically perished at the Bataclan concert hall. The coordinated attacks in Paris claimed a total of 130 lives, with 416 individuals sustaining injuries. Helen, an American expatriate living in Paris at the time of the attacks, provided testimony during the trial of Salah Abdeslam, the sole survivor of the terrorist cell responsible for the atrocities. Abdeslam received a life sentence for his involvement in the terror-related activities.

Despite the immense grief and loss she has endured, Helen disclosed her forgiveness towards Nick’s perpetrators, emphasizing the importance of letting go of hatred and seeking inner peace. She expressed her doubts about the effectiveness of life imprisonment for Abdeslam, believing in the potential for redemption and rehabilitation even in the face of such heinous crimes. Helen acknowledged the challenges she faces in finding solace and closure but remains steadfast in honoring Nick’s memory and legacy.

As she continues her journey of healing and recovery, Helen carries Nick in her thoughts and believes his spirit watches over her, guiding her path forward with a sense of pride and resilience.
