Apple’s most recent iPhone is now available at its lowest price ever as the company gears up to introduce a new model to its smartphone series. The discounted offer is being offered by Sky Mobile, allowing customers to purchase the iPhone 16e for just £18.
This promotion coincides with Apple’s announcement of a live stream event scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, during which the highly anticipated iPhone 17 is anticipated to be unveiled. In a statement on X, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook teased the upcoming #AppleEvent saying, “Get ready for an awe dropping #AppleEvent on Tuesday, September 9.”
Although specific details remain undisclosed, viewers tuning into the live stream can anticipate the debut of the updated iPhone 17 Pro and the rumored iPhone 17 Air. Similar to the design concept of the iPad Air and MacBook Air, this new addition is expected to offer a slimmer and more compact version of the smartphone.
While tech enthusiasts eagerly await a glimpse of the new Apple phones, Sky Mobile’s latest deal makes the current iPhone 16e model even more affordable. Previously priced at £19, the £18 offer may seem modest, but it saves customers £48 over the plan’s duration.
The device comes with a standard 100MB data allowance, but users needing more data can benefit from reduced prices on other options, including 50GB for £12 and unlimited data for £20. Sky’s smartphone contracts typically last 36 months, but customers have the option to upgrade to a new phone from 24 months without any additional charges.
The iPhone 16e is now more budget-friendly than ever on Sky Mobile, enabling Apple enthusiasts to save £48 with the latest price drop. For just £18 per month, users can acquire the premium iPhone 16e at a reduced price.
Ahead of the Apple event, Sky Mobile is not the only retailer slashing prices. Amazon has discounted the iPhone 16e from £599 to £544 for those preferring to make an outright purchase, surpassing Apple’s own £599 price tag for the same model.
Apple launched the iPhone 16e in February as a more economical alternative to the standard iPhone 16 model. Despite its affordability, the iPhone 16e is equipped with powerful features, thanks to Apple’s latest-generation A18 chip.
Featuring a 6.1” Super Retina XDR display, the phone offers AI capabilities through Apple Intelligence, with notable functions like object removal from images and ChatGPT writing tools. Additionally, the iPhone 16e includes a 48MP Fusion camera, 4K video recording with Dolby Vision, and safety features such as Emergency SOS and Roadside Assistance.
Our Technology Editor Dave Snelling reviewed the iPhone 16e earlier this year, praising its premium design with toughened Ceramic Shield glass and aerospace-grade aluminum casing. The device boasts a sleek matte finish on the rear case and a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen, offering an immersive viewing experience.
Powered by a robust A18 processor, the iPhone 16e provides access to Apple Intelligence, outperforming older iPhone models like the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 in terms of performance. Despite its strengths, Dave noted some drawbacks of the iPhone 16e, including the absence of features like Apple’s Dynamic Island notch and MagSafe charging found in more expensive models.
Nevertheless, Dave recommended considering the iPhone 16e, especially with the current deals available.
