Jade Melbourne contributed 16 points and seven assists for Seattle (8-31), which had struggled in 14 of its previous 15 matches. Awa Fam and Zia Cooke also made significant contributions with 10 points each.
Toronto faced challenges with their top three scorers, Marina Mabrey (adductor), Brittney Sykes (foot), and Nyara Sabally (calf), absent from the game. Despite this setback, rookie Kiki Rice shined with a career-best 24 points for Toronto (11-27), while Isabelle Harrison recorded 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Seattle’s strong performance in the third quarter, ending with an 11-4 run to seize a 64-61 lead, set the tone for their victory. They carried this momentum into the fourth quarter, opening with a 9-2 spurt to establish a commanding 10-point lead.
Looking ahead, the Toronto Tempo will face Las Vegas on Friday night, while the Seattle Storm is set to host Los Angeles on Sunday.
