“Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks Consider Replacing Strictly Hosts”

Date:

Best friends Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks have discussed the possibility of replacing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as co-hosts of Strictly Come Dancing. This conversation arose following the unexpected departure of the current hosts from the BBC show. During an exclusive photoshoot with Notebook, Sam suggested that Pete should be the new presenter, although Pete humorously dismissed the idea, emphasizing the professionalism of Tess and Claudia.

Pete expressed doubts about their capability to take on such roles, joking that it would be chaotic if they were to host together. Despite this, Sam remained optimistic, stating that he would be surprised but willing to give it a try if they were offered the opportunity.

The duo’s successful podcast, “Staying Relevant,” has achieved high rankings, and they have recently released a book. Pete, a former Strictly contestant, reflected on his experience on the show, particularly addressing a memorable dance routine with his partner that never made it to the finals. He expressed fondness for the show and acknowledged missing the routine and challenge it provided.

Regarding Tess and Claudia’s departure, Pete admitted his surprise and sadness but praised their talents and warmth. He expressed confidence that the replacements for the iconic hosts would do a fantastic job.

The book “Staying Relevant” by Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks is now available for readers interested in their journey.
