Revolut, a finance and tech firm, is introducing a new mobile service in the UK, known as Revolut Mobile. This service offers unlimited 5G data, calls, and texts for just £12.50 per month, making it a highly competitive option compared to similar plans from other major UK networks like EE and Vodafone, which charge £25 monthly.
In addition to the cost savings, Revolut Mobile provides a generous 20GB roaming allowance across the EU and the United States at no extra charge. This feature is especially beneficial for frequent travelers, allowing them to stay connected without incurring additional fees, a common practice among UK networks, especially for US travel.
Moreover, Revolut Mobile includes a Messaging Pass for global messaging in over 80 countries, enabling low-bandwidth data usage for platforms like WhatsApp. Customers can also add up to three phone numbers to a single plan, facilitating the management of work, personal, and travel lines. Furthermore, each subscription comes with a complimentary NordVPN membership for secure and private browsing.
The service is currently being rolled out to waitlisted customers, with full public availability expected by January 2026. While Revolut’s move into the mobile market is ambitious, industry experts caution that success is not guaranteed. Analysts emphasize the importance of strong execution in combining banking services with mobile connectivity, given the competitive nature of the MVNO market.
Despite potential challenges, Revolut is confident in its ability to compete with established networks like EE, Vodafone, and O2. Hadi Nasrallah, General Manager of Telco at Revolut, stated that Revolut Mobile aims to offer a truly differentiated alternative, disrupting the industry by providing innovative features, transparent pricing, and a user-friendly experience.
