“Retired Officer Earns £5,500 Spotting Vacant Properties”

Date:

During the costly holiday season, many individuals seek ways to boost their finances post-Christmas. Retired law enforcement officer Roy Foulkes has managed to accrue over £5,500 in cash and vouchers by identifying and reporting vacant and deteriorating properties.

Living in West Hallam, Derbyshire, the 67-year-old discovered YouSpotProperty in 2024 and has been utilizing the platform to supplement his income ever since. YouSpotProperty compensates individuals for pinpointing and flagging long-term unoccupied residences.

Initially, the company awards a £20 Amazon or M&S voucher to those who correctly identify an empty property. If YouSpotProperty proceeds to purchase, renovate, and sell the house, the spotter receives 1% of the buying price, capped at £10,000.

Roy has accumulated £4,750 from 1% rewards for two properties rescued by YouSpotProperty and 39 £20 vouchers amounting to £780. He received £2,350 for the first property and more recently £1,620 for the second, using the funds for household items, vacations, and activities with his grandchildren.

The initial property that qualified for the 1% commission caught Roy’s attention during a stroll in his former patrol area. Despite previously reporting it to the local council without any action, Roy’s persistence paid off through YouSpotProperty’s program.

Spotting the second property near a former local authority residence in Derby, Roy documented the property’s condition and reported it. His vigilance led to earning a 1% commission of £1,620 upon the property’s sale confirmation.

Apart from reaping the benefits of the 1% rewards, Roy has made use of the vouchers for household purchases. Expressing satisfaction in contributing to society while earning extra income, Roy continues to engage in spotting potential properties.

With a substantial number of unoccupied properties in England and Wales estimated at over £465 billion, YouSpotProperty issues an average of 110 £20 M&S or Amazon vouchers monthly to individuals reporting eligible properties. The company receives reports on 350 to 450 properties weekly, with around seven 1% reward fees disbursed monthly for properties bought and refurbished, ranging from £17,000 to £3 million in the past year.

Co-founder of YouSpotProperty.com, Benjamin Radstone, emphasized the significance of addressing the issue of empty properties, highlighting the company’s role in revitalizing numerous residences and sharing rewards with the public.
