A horrifying car accident that occurred in Marietta, Georgia, back in 2004 later became the inspiration for a memorable scene in a horror film.
The tragic event unfolded as John Kemper Hutcherson was driving his friend Francis Daniel Brohm home from a pub after a night of drinking. Daniel, feeling unwell, leaned out of the car window just before Hutcherson lost control of the vehicle.
Regrettably, Daniel was tragically decapitated by a telephone support cable during the crash. Hutcherson drove 12 miles to his suburban Atlanta home, where he slept in his blood-stained clothes, leaving behind Daniel’s decapitated body in his truck.

Hutcherson, aged 21 at the time, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and received a five-year sentence. Authorities reported that Hutcherson, who had a blood-alcohol level over double the legal limit, was unaware of the decapitation when he returned home and went to bed. The victim’s family, who had known Hutcherson since childhood, advocated for leniency during his trial despite the impaired judgment caused by alcohol.
