A woman who was three months pregnant survived a fall from a cliff in Pha Taem National Park, Thailand, after being allegedly pushed by her financially struggling husband. Wang Nan sustained multiple fractures in the incident and underwent extensive surgery, requiring over 100 steel pins and 200 stitches. Despite the fall being cushioned by trees, she tragically lost her baby.
Investigations revealed that Wang’s husband, Yu Xiaodong, was in significant debt and plotted to inherit her substantial fortune by pushing her off the cliff. Suspicion arose when Yu was observed standing at a distance from the scene after the fall. Wang, who initially claimed she fell after fainting, later disclosed the truth, stating that her husband threatened her with harm if she spoke out.
Following legal proceedings, Yu was convicted of murder and sentenced to over 33 years in a Thai prison. He then demanded a substantial sum for a divorce, citing emotional distress. Wang, also known as Wang Nuannuan online, finally obtained a divorce and celebrated the court’s decision on social media.
Despite the challenges she faced, including threats and emotional manipulation, Wang expressed relief at the outcome, especially as she has since welcomed a child through IVF. The story of her resilience and pursuit of justice has garnered attention and support from the public.
