A 32-year-old woman named Sonia Exelby from Portsmouth, Hampshire, tragically passed away in the US after reportedly seeking a violent death, despite having recently expressed on Facebook that she was feeling healthy. Her body was discovered in a shallow grave in woodland in Marion Oaks, Florida, following her failure to board her return flight on October 13.
Authorities have accused Florida resident Dwain Hall of sexually abusing, torturing, and ultimately murdering Sonia, who had been struggling with mental health issues according to her family. An autopsy confirmed that she died from four stab wounds. The investigation linked the two individuals through transactions made on Sonia’s credit cards.
Hall, aged 53, was arrested on November 17 and is now facing charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, credit card fraud, and unlawful use of a communication device, all of which he denies.
