Plus-Size Fashion Brand Live Unlimited Faces Administration

Date:

A fashion brand specializing in plus-size clothing, available at popular retailers like Next and Marks and Spencer, is facing potential administration. Live Unlimited has initiated the process of appointing administrators, a move that triggers a temporary legal protection preventing creditor actions for ten days.

The administration oversight is expected to be handled by Irwin Mitchell, as reported by The Sun. Efforts to obtain comments from Live Unlimited and Irwin Mitchell by Mirror are ongoing. The brand, established by Rachel Heather and Tracy Egan in 2012, initially began as a small collection before expanding fully in 2017.

Live Unlimited recently expanded its reach by partnering with Nordstrom, a department store chain, to distribute its size-inclusive clothing range (sizes 12 to 28) in the United States.

In a separate development, Cefinn, a fashion label founded by Lady Samantha Cameron, wife of former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, is set to cease operations. Lady Cameron confirmed that the upcoming winter collection will be the brand’s final release. While Cefinn stores in London will continue trading for the foreseeable future, the decision to wind up the brand was described as challenging due to mounting costs and profitability challenges.

Lady Cameron expressed gratitude to loyal customers and acknowledged the difficulties faced in the fashion industry, leading to the decision to wind down Cefinn. The brand, tailored for modern women who value both style and substance, is named after the Cameron family, reflecting a blend of personal and professional elements.

Despite recent positive sales figures, ongoing challenges in the fashion sector, including cost pressures and international trade limitations, influenced the decision to close Cefinn. Lady Cameron remains hopeful that the brand’s legacy will endure in the wardrobes of its dedicated followers.

This development follows similar industry trends, indicating the volatile nature of the fashion business landscape.
