The Middlesex County OPP received a report shortly before midnight on July 25 regarding a person who had been transported to the hospital with critical injuries, as indicated in a press release by OPP on Thursday. Unfortunately, the individual was later declared deceased.
Authorities suspect that a 33-year-old individual from Chatham sustained injuries in an event on River Line within Eelünaapéewi Lahkéewiit that led to the fatal outcome. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently being investigated by the police. They urge anyone with relevant information to step forward and assist in the inquiry. Additionally, they are appealing to residents, businesses, and individuals present in the River Line vicinity on the evening of Saturday, July 25, to examine any available surveillance or dashcam footage and reach out to the authorities if they possess information that could aid in the investigation.
