A group of 19 Russian drones, mistakenly flying over Poland, triggered a response from the nation’s air defenses, causing tensions in the region. This incident has led Poland to invoke Article 4, potentially prompting Nato intervention to protect its territorial integrity.
Russia has denied any direct threat to Poland, claiming the drones were aimed at targets in western Ukraine. Despite this, concerns over escalating conflicts have been raised by experts like Professor Anthony Glees, who draws parallels between the current situation and historical precedents, warning of the potential for a larger conflict.
Prof Glees emphasized the need to address the escalating tensions with Russia to prevent a possible world war, highlighting the importance of halting Putin’s actions before they lead to catastrophic consequences.
