Motorsport Industry Worker Accused of Assaulting Nurse at Schumacher’s Home

Date:

A person in their thirties working in the motorsport industry has been accused of sexually assaulting a nurse who cared for Michael Schumacher. The incident allegedly took place at Schumacher’s home in Gland, Switzerland, as reported by Swiss newspaper 24heures.

The accusations stem from 2019 but have recently surfaced, with the victim filing a criminal complaint over two years after the incident. A trial is reportedly set to commence this week.

According to the rape indictment, the individual assaulted the nurse in an upstairs bedroom at Schumacher’s residence, where she was providing care after his skiing accident in 2013. The assault allegedly occurred after a night of heavy drinking, with the two individuals meeting in the billiard room of the Lake Geneva mansion.

The accused individual claims to have had a previous encounter with the nurse at a club in Geneva where they kissed, but the nurse denies any close relationship between them.

Notably, none of the Schumacher family members are implicated in the allegations, as per the indictment, confirming their absence during the events.

Over a decade ago, the legendary Formula One champion suffered a severe head injury in a skiing accident, leading to his current need for continuous care by a medical team at his residence. Schumacher spent 250 days in a medically induced coma before returning home for ongoing treatment.

His wife, Corinna, has maintained privacy regarding his care but provided an update in a recent Netflix documentary, expressing the family’s dedication to his recovery and comfort.

Schumacher’s illustrious career includes winning his first world championship titles with Benetton in 1994 and 1995 before securing five consecutive championships with Ferrari from 2000 to 2004.
