“Loaded Gun Magazine Found on Frontier Airlines Flight”

Date:

A Frontier Airlines aircraft at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta had to be evacuated and investigated by authorities, including the FBI, after a passenger found a loaded gun magazine near seat 7A. The magazine contained ten hollow point rounds, prompting swift action from Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Frontier Airlines, Homeland Security, and Police K-9 units.

Upon discovery, the FBI was alerted, and law enforcement officials, along with TSA, DOA, and Atlanta Police K-9 units, conducted a thorough search of the Airbus A320. The magazine, marked with the initials “K H,” was found during boarding for the return flight to Cincinnati.

After the magazine was removed and passengers were re-screened, the flight departed approximately three-and-a-half hours later. Law enforcement agencies confirmed that no other suspicious items were found during the search. The FBI was informed of the incident, but no active threats were identified.

Local reports indicated that investigators were still determining the ownership of the gun involved. Witness Terry Foster expressed surprise at the situation, stating it was a new experience despite previous flight delays. Another passenger, Janyia Davis, expressed relief that the potential threat was averted, emphasizing the importance of the timely discovery and removal of the gun magazine.
