Lando Norris Eyes Back-to-Back Wins at ‘Home’ Grand Prix

Date:

Lando Norris is aiming for consecutive victories at his ‘home’ race this Sunday following a successful qualifying session following his recent British Grand Prix win. His first career victory at Silverstone was a joyous moment celebrated with his family. Racing in the homeland of his mother, Cisca, Norris secured pole position in the Ardennes Forest, outperforming his teammate and title rival Oscar Piastri in the crucial qualifying session.

Reflecting on his performance, Norris mentioned making slight improvements in driving and benefiting from a slipstream, which made a significant difference compared to the previous day’s performance. Despite starting and finishing third in the earlier Sprint race, Norris acknowledges the challenges of starting from pole position at Spa-Francorchamps due to the slipstream dynamics on the track.

Expressing confidence in his abilities, Norris emphasized his determination to win regardless of the starting position. Piastri, leading the title race by nine points, expressed disappointment over a mistake that cost him a potential pole position, but remains optimistic about his pace for the upcoming race.

Formula 1 enthusiasts can now enjoy live coverage of all sessions with Sky’s new Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, offering substantial savings and additional benefits. Verstappen’s recent Sprint race victory under new team management was a strong start, although he anticipates a challenging race ahead, particularly if weather conditions change.

Verstappen highlighted the difficulties of qualifying and expressed a realistic approach to the race, focusing on achieving a balanced performance and aiming for a podium finish.
