An endearing canine was abandoned and left to perish on the streets following severe mistreatment by its previous owner. The distressed dog, named Juni, was discovered shivering by the roadside by rescuer Lauren Daigle, who has taken to social media to raise awareness about the dog’s heartbreaking ordeal.
Hailing from Nebraska, USA, Lauren has dedicated herself to seeking justice for Juni after uncovering the extent of the suffering the dog had endured. In a poignant TikTok video, she disclosed, “I came across an abandoned dog on the roadside. Little did we know that she had been shot twice in the head, emaciated but still alive.”
Struggling to hold back tears, she added, “While driving on the highway today, I found a stray dog. I rushed her to the vet due to her mouth bleeding. The vet confirmed that she had been shot. The bullets narrowly missed her brain and eye.”
Fortunately, since her rescue, Juni has been welcomed into a caring and nurturing home where she can finally experience the compassion that humans can offer. The caption accompanying the video reads: “We are aware of more details than we can share at the moment. Now she has a name. Now she has a bed. Now she knows love. Her name is Juni, and she is surviving for all the voiceless animals that couldn’t.”
Lauren has notified the authorities about the situation, and the previous owners have been identified. In a subsequent statement, she expressed, “She wagged her tail yesterday, brightening my day. I am eagerly looking forward to seeing joy return to her eyes. We have met with the breeder, identified the previous owner, gathered evidence, and are in the process of submitting it to the sheriffs in both counties as our initial step.”
