Jake Paul’s Promoter Addresses Allegations Against Opponent

Date:

Jake Paul’s promotional company has issued a statement following allegations against his upcoming opponent Gervonta Davis. Davis faces accusations of battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping by a former partner.

The scheduled exhibition match between Paul and Davis in Miami on November 14 has garnered attention, despite the weight difference between the two fighters. The fight will not impact their professional records, but a winner will be determined through stoppage, judges’ decision, or AI official if needed.

Amid calls for the fight’s cancellation due to the accusations against Davis, reports suggest Paul may consider Ryan Garcia as a replacement. However, Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s company, stated that no decision has been finalized as they conduct an investigation into the matter.

In the statement, Most Valuable Promotions expressed their commitment to condemning violence and assured a thorough review process before determining the next course of action. Davis has yet to respond to the allegations, with his trainer dismissing them as baseless.

Meanwhile, Garcia’s participation in a potential fight with Paul has been ruled out due to contractual obligations with different platforms. Paul may postpone his return to the ring to December, with previous links to heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua, although securing a deal on short notice seems unlikely.
