Various film studios have shown interest in adapting Suzi Ronson’s autobiography, the wife of Bowie’s close associate Mick Ronson, into a cinematic production, leading to a competitive auction process.
Suzi Ronson, a stylist who played a pivotal role in crafting Bowie’s renowned Ziggy Stardust persona, reminisced about her experiences during Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust era, a period encompassing 1972 and 1973. The album “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars” emerged as one of Bowie’s top-selling records, solidifying his musical legacy.
In an interview with The Sun, Suzi revealed details about her book titled “Me And Mr Jones: My Life With David Bowie And The Spiders From Mars,” published last year. The book sheds light on a brief romantic encounter between Suzi and Bowie while he was still married to his first wife, Angie, providing intimate insights into Bowie’s personal life.
Although specific details about the high-budget film remain undisclosed, further information is expected to be revealed only after finalizing a contract amidst the competitive Hollywood bidding process. The film’s release is anticipated to occur no sooner than a decade after Bowie’s passing due to cancer in 2016 at the age of 69 in New York City.
Additionally, a previously unknown project by Bowie, a musical centered around the 18th century titled “The Spectator,” was recently discovered by archivists. The project, containing notes and writings showcasing Bowie’s interest in the art and satire of 18th Century London, including stories of infamous criminal figures like “Honest” Jack Sheppard, has been donated to the V&A Museum for preservation.
