Freeview Users Urged to Retune for Channel Changes

Date:

Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the announcement of an update to the UK TV platform. Freeview has disclosed that certain broadcasters are implementing changes to the channel lineup and TV guide, necessitating a retune for viewers to ensure access to the latest channels and program information.

The update includes four key changes. Notably, three existing channels have been rebranded with new names, reflecting a shift in programming content. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) has been renamed to That’s 20th Century, offering music from past decades and featuring iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) now appears as That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) has been simplified to That’s Classics.

In addition to the rebrands, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, is set to launch on Channel 75. While program listings for this new channel are not widely available yet, Freeview promises more details will be forthcoming soon.

Freeview emphasizes that these updates are part of ongoing adjustments by broadcasters to keep their content fresh and diverse. Users are encouraged to check their TV planners for these changes; if not yet visible, a retune may be necessary. To retune your device, follow these steps:
– Press the menu button on your remote
– Access settings, installation, or a similar option
– Enter your PIN if prompted (typically 1234 or 0000)
– Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune”
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels
– Allow your device to search for and store the updated channels automatically

Although Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is considered significant, underscoring the importance of retuning at the earliest convenience to ensure uninterrupted viewing experience.
