Ed Sheeran and his family have confirmed their upcoming move to the United States. In a recent interview on the 2 Johnnies podcast, the 34-year-old singer shared that he, along with his wife Cherry Seaborn and their two daughters, Lyra and Jupiter, will be leaving their £3.7 million estate in Suffolk, known as Sheeranville. This estate, equipped with amenities like a gym, pool, tree house, and a separate bungalow, has been a significant location where Ed has penned many of his songs. However, the family is now preparing to relocate to America soon.
Ed mentioned his plans to move to the U.S. during his podcast appearance, citing his upcoming tour as the reason for the move. The tour, following the release of his latest album, Play, includes only two UK dates in Coventry on December 5 and Manchester on December 7, with the album set to be released on September 12.
While Ed looks forward to the opportunities in America, he will miss supporting his favorite football club, Ipswich Town, where he holds a 1.4% stake and was a recent shirt sponsor. Despite his fondness for Suffolk, Ed has expressed his aspiration to move to Nashville, a city he admires in the U.S., during a previous podcast interview.
Having met his wife during their childhood and reconnected years later, Ed emphasized the importance of family in his life, especially after becoming a father. He spoke about finding purpose and fulfillment through fatherhood in an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Suffolk, known for producing various stars, including Ed Sheeran, continues to hold a special place in the singer’s heart, as evident in his music that pays homage to the county. As Ed and his family prepare for their new chapter in the U.S., fans eagerly anticipate his continued musical journey and potential ventures in the country.
