Delaney Baie (DB) Pridham, who clinched both the Golden Boot and Player of the Year titles in the Northern Super League, has inked an extension to her contract with Rapid FC until the end of the 2028 season. The 28-year-old striker has netted a total of 28 goals across the first two NSL seasons and boasts appearances with the Canadian national women’s team. She is anticipated to feature in the squad this autumn as Canada vies for a spot in the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Originating from Saratoga, California, Pridham, an alumna of Santa Clara University, has previously plied her trade with IBV in Iceland, as well as Kristianstads DFF and Linköpings FC in Sweden. However, she takes immense pride in representing Ottawa. Pridham expressed her enthusiasm about staying with the club, citing the strong support and future prospects under the new ownership as key factors.
Thomas Gilbert, the CEO of Rapid FC, expressed his lack of surprise at Pridham’s decision to remain with the team, highlighting ongoing discussions dating back to the previous year. Pridham is not the only Canadian talent making a move to Ottawa, as former national team star Carmelina Moscato has been appointed as the head coach for the upcoming season, succeeding Katrine Pederson.
