A tragic fire at a retirement home in Tuzla, Bosnia, has claimed the lives of at least 11 people, with over 30 others sustaining injuries. The blaze, which started on the seventh floor of the building last night, caused chaos as flames engulfed the upper levels.

Nermin Niksic, the Prime Minister of Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat region, described the incident as a “disaster of enormous proportions.” Video footage captured flames leaping from the building’s windows, prompting authorities to begin the identification of victims and launch an investigation into the fire’s cause at a later time.

Resident Ruza Kajic recounted being awakened by a loud noise before witnessing burning debris falling from above. She shared her shock at the sight of bedridden individuals on the higher floors. The retirement home has issued a statement assuring that authorities are actively working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

Reports indicate that multiple patients are receiving treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning, with three individuals in critical condition in intensive care. Savo Minic, the Prime Minister of the Serb Republic, expressed solidarity, stating, “We feel the pain and are always ready to help.”

The community is in mourning as the investigation progresses and the extent of the damage is assessed. Stay informed by following updates on major news platforms or visiting relevant news sources for the latest developments.
