“CEO’s Wife Clarifies: Separation Preceded Viral Kiss Cam Incident”

Date:

The spouse of a woman who was captured on Coldplay’s ‘kiss cam’ appearing affectionate with her superior has stated that they had already separated privately and amicably before the concert.

Kirsten Cabot and her spouse, Andrew Cabot, 61, disclosed recently that they are in the process of divorcing following her public display with her boss Andy Bryon at a concert.

The video went viral on social media, leading to Andy stepping down as the CEO of tech company Astronomer and Kirstin resigning from her position as Head of HR.

Nonetheless, Andrew, an entrepreneur from Massachusetts, clarified that he and Kirstin had been separated several weeks prior to the Coldplay event.

A representative speaking on his behalf to the media stated, “The divorce proceedings were already in motion before that night. With the divorce now public, Andrew wishes for this to put an end to speculations and grant his family the privacy they cherish.”

Kirstin’s on-screen moment with her manager gained global attention. Even Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, quipped about them potentially having an affair or being shy.

Shortly after the incident, both employees were placed on leave, with Andy eventually resigning due to not meeting company standards.

Despite the divorce confirmation, Andrew’s spokesperson informed People that no further public statements would be made.

This marks the first time the woman’s husband has addressed the situation publicly, albeit through a representative, shedding light on their relationship status.

Andrew, who heads a distillery in Ipswich, Massachusetts, has no children with Kirstin but has two kids from a previous marriage. He emphasized the family’s value for privacy, which was somewhat undermined during the scandal.

Both Kirstin and her manager reacted awkwardly when the kiss cam focused on them at the concert, with Kirstin turning away quickly and him disappearing from view.

The incident sparked numerous memes and ridicule, bringing national attention to the former colleagues for several days. Online users even delved into and shared personal information about their families.

The viral moment ignited a debate on privacy in the digital age and the boundaries of public scrutiny.

In a press release from November announcing Cabot’s role at Astronomer, Byron praised her exceptional leadership and expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and people strategies as crucial to the company’s growth trajectory.
