K-pop sensation BTS has stirred up controversy among some of their devoted fans following a public appearance with the controversial American artist Chris Brown at his Toronto concert. J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok) and RM (Kim Nam-joon) were spotted at Brown’s show at Rogers Stadium, where he performed alongside Usher. BTS is set to take the same stage for their own performances on August 22 and 23.
In a photo shared on Brown’s Instagram, J-Hope and RM were seen posing with the singer and later captured on video enjoying the concert. Brown, known for his criminal record and multiple assault charges, has a history of legal troubles dating back to 2009 when he was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna. He has faced various assault charges over the years, including a recent guilty plea for a nightclub altercation in London.
The online response from BTS’s ARMY, their loyal fan base, has been divided. Some fans expressed disappointment in the members for associating with Brown, while others defended J-Hope and RM’s attendance at the concert. The controversy has sparked discussions on social media platforms, with fans debating the ethics of supporting artists with problematic histories.
As of now, BTS representatives have not issued any statements in response to the backlash.
