“Asia Awes at Rare Blood Moon Eclipse Spectacle”

Date:

A total lunar eclipse graced the night sky last night, treating parts of Asia to a breathtaking celestial display. Known as the “blood moon,” the moon took on a deep red hue as Earth positioned itself directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting Earth’s shadow onto the lunar surface.

This event marked the first time the lunar eclipse was visible in the UK since 2022, offering a clear view to many regions under the night’s clear skies. While countries in the Middle East and Europe also enjoyed splendid views, Asia had the best vantage points to witness the eclipse.

Unlike solar eclipses, this lunar eclipse was visible to the naked eye and safe to observe directly, as the moon’s reflected light poses no harm compared to the Sun’s intensity.

Enthusiasts worldwide gathered to witness this rare phenomenon, capturing stunning views of the blood moon over various iconic locations such as Athens, London, Jalandhar in India, Cairo, Washington DC, Yangon in Myanmar, Leipzig in Germany, Tangerang in Indonesia, and Mudeford Sandbank in Dorset.
