Actress Sally Kirkland Dies at 84, Fans Mourn

Actress Sally Kirkland, known for her role in Bruce Almighty, has passed away at the age of 84, as confirmed by her spokesperson. She died at a hospice in Palm Springs at 1:50 pm on Tuesday, following a battle with dementia and severe infections. Cody Galloway, a close friend and former student, was with her during her final moments, while her representative, Michael Greene, had flown in to be by her side earlier.

Prior to her death, a GoFundMe page was set up by friends to assist with her urgent medical expenses, citing a significant health crisis due to multiple fractures and life-threatening infections that required extensive hospital care beyond insurance coverage. Kirkland, who received an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe for her performance in the 1987 film Anna, had also appeared in popular projects such as Revenge, Big Stan, and The Sting.

Fans paid tribute to Kirkland on social media, remembering her as a versatile character actor and red carpet icon. Many highlighted her memorable roles and impactful performances throughout her career. Kirkland’s legacy in the entertainment industry remains cherished by those who admired her work.
