A pregnant young woman who faced the harrowing Bataclan terror attack in Paris in 2015 has recently shared her story. Known as Charlotte, she disclosed that her now nine-year-old daughter is fully aware of the trauma her mother endured on that fateful night. Charlotte, captured on video clinging to a window ledge while pregnant, was saved by a man who later became her daughter’s godfather.
Two months pregnant at the time of the attack, Charlotte gave birth the following summer. Remarkably, her daughter now provides emotional support to Charlotte as she continues to cope with the aftermath. The young girl is even asking permission to share her mother’s story with friends.
The ISIS-related attack in Paris claimed 130 lives, including 90 concertgoers at the Bataclan. Charlotte’s gripping video of survival garnered worldwide attention, leading to her eventual revelation of identity and recounting of the event to the press.
Charlotte formed a close bond with Sebastien Besatti, the man who saved her life. Reflecting on the incident, she described her desperate attempt to hold on to a window ledge during the attack. Sebastian, who asked to be her daughter’s godfather and a witness at her wedding, expressed his satisfaction at being able to publicly acknowledge his role in saving Charlotte.
Despite shying away from the limelight, Charlotte’s story of resilience and gratitude towards Sebastien has touched many. Sebastien, reflecting on the aftermath of the attack, acknowledged the profound impact the experience had on him and the newfound appreciation for the value of sharing happiness.
