It has been a successful period for Sky homes as the company has introduced the inclusion of the popular Disney+ streaming platform with certain plans at no additional charge. Moreover, the new HBO Max service has recently launched in the UK, offering complimentary access to select Sky customers. Subscribers with a Sky Ultimate TV package can now enjoy premium titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and Young Sheldon without the usual £4.99 monthly fee, resulting in savings exceeding £50.
Sky has officially announced that Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV, as well as Sky Q customers with the appropriate package, will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription.
HBO Max, a well-established service in the USA, features a vast library of compelling HBO dramas, including popular series like Succession and The Wire, alongside new Max Originals like The Pitt. Additionally, viewers can access a wide array of Warner Bros. films through the platform.
To get started with HBO Max, Sky Ultimate TV customers on Sky Glass or Sky Stream, or those on Sky Signature/Sky Entertainment using Sky Q, can easily launch the HBO Max app from the homepage and follow the on-screen instructions for activation. Once set up, users can stream content on demand.
For non-Sky Ultimate TV subscribers, switching to this plan is possible starting at £22 per month (increasing to £24 from April 1st). This package includes over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service set to launch later this year.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, stated, “This marks a new era for Sky and NOW, offering a comprehensive entertainment experience by combining Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu in a single subscription, a first-of-its-kind integration in the industry.”
Customers with NOW Entertainment will also gain access to HBO Max at no extra cost, seamlessly integrated into the NOW app.
For individuals not subscribed to Sky services, HBO Max can be directly accessed on its website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
