Fernando Alonso expressed strong dissatisfaction towards Lewis Hamilton immediately after completing the Singapore Grand Prix. Despite finishing eighth in his Aston Martin, Alonso is expected to move up to seventh place due to Hamilton’s close finish ahead of him.
Hamilton encountered a brake failure in the final laps, struggling to maintain control of his Ferrari and crossing the finish line just ahead of Alonso after cutting corners to compensate. However, Hamilton’s frequent track limit violations are under scrutiny by race stewards, putting his finishing position in jeopardy.
Alonso, visibly frustrated, vocally criticized Hamilton over the radio for endangering other drivers by continuing to race with brake issues. He demanded a post-race penalty for Hamilton’s infractions, insisting on a minimum five-second penalty for the violations.
Ultimately, race stewards imposed a five-second penalty on Hamilton for repeatedly leaving the track without valid reasons, resulting in him dropping to eighth place behind Alonso. This decision was based on the driving standards guidelines and was not contested by Hamilton’s team.
