Lewis Hamilton has criticized the rumors linking Christian Horner to a potential move to Ferrari, stating that they are not beneficial for the team’s quest for improved performance. Hamilton, currently assisting Ferrari in regaining their winning form in his first season with the team after leaving Mercedes, emphasized the importance of continuity.
Previously showing support for Frederic Vasseur, Hamilton reiterated the team’s commitment by re-signing Vasseur to a multi-year deal. Despite media speculation about Horner becoming available in 2026 after departing from Red Bull, Hamilton, during a press conference in Austin before the United States Grand Prix, voiced his preference for maintaining stability within the team.
Hamilton expressed his concerns about the distracting nature of such rumors, highlighting the team’s focus on future endeavors under Vasseur’s leadership. He emphasized the importance of staying on course and concentrating on enhancing performance for the upcoming seasons through meticulous planning and execution.
Currently placed sixth in the drivers’ championship, Hamilton is yet to secure a podium finish for Ferrari in a Grand Prix. Failing to reach the top three in Austin would mark a new record for the most races without a podium finish at the beginning of his tenure with the Scuderia, a first in the team’s F1 history.
