“Traveler’s Clever Row-Securing Hack Ignites Controversy”

Date:

Revealing a clever travel trick, a woman known as @rachelinarealway on social media shared how she consistently secures an entire row to herself during flights without disclosing all the details. Rachel, who is active on both TikTok and Instagram, posted her special “hack for those who prefer having a whole row to themselves while traveling,” recognizing the joy of having extra space for personal items while onboard.

According to Rachel, by using her “corporate email” when booking flights, she has experienced airlines granting her the privilege of occupying a row solo. In a video caption, she playfully mentioned: “Imagine: you switch to booking flights with your corporate email and suddenly find yourself placed in empty rows.”

Despite Rachel’s assertion, some individuals, including a seasoned travel agent, doubted the validity of her claim.

Disputing the notion, the travel agent stated: “For those genuinely curious about the truth – having worked as a corporate travel agent for ten years, I can confidently say this is inaccurate.

“While some companies offer discounts or loyalty codes (snap codes), these factors do not influence your assigned seat in any way. Hopefully, this clarifies things!”

Expressing disbelief, another individual remarked: “Come on, do you honestly think an airline would leave seats unsold because someone has a corporate email? Having empty seats around you is purely chance.”

Adding to the discussion, a frequent business traveler shared: “In my experience of around 30 annual flights for work, this scenario has never occurred.”

A spokesperson from Netflights, Amanda Parker, disclosed: “Within the aviation sector, there is no substantive proof supporting the effectiveness of this trick apart from viral TikTok content circulating recently.

“Creators of such content suggest that companies engaged in business travel spend more compared to regular consumers, potentially leading to preferential seating arrangements through corporate portals. Nonetheless, this outcome is not guaranteed, and various external factors can influence the success of this strategy.

“Airline seat allocations are subject to multiple variables, including check-in timing, booking patterns, and aircraft configurations, making this hack unreliable for passengers.”

Amanda suggested exploring alternative methods to secure an empty row but cautioned that success is uncertain, and sharing a row may be inevitable.

She recommended opting for a window or aisle seat, banking on the tendency of solo travelers to avoid middle seats when selecting seats, potentially leaving the middle seat unclaimed in a row of three. “It’s a gamble, but it could pay off,” she remarked.

Additionally, Amanda advised that avoiding peak travel times could increase the odds of securing an empty row.
