The garments, created by Paris-based brand Coperni in collaboration with Swiss biotech experts, are designed to enhance the skin’s protective barrier and natural radiance.
Known as Carewear, this line of clothing contains around 140,000 live bacteria cells per gram within the stretch fabric. These friendly bacteria gradually interact with the skin during wear, claiming to offer skin benefits. The active ingredients are said to endure up to 40 washes, providing long-lasting effects.
The concept behind Carewear originated from Coperni’s founders, Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer, who envisioned clothing that not only dresses but also cares for individuals. They emphasized the importance of considering the skin as a living organ and aimed to create clothing that acts as a supportive ally, promoting wellness and self-care.
Coperni’s innovative designs prioritized both comfort and effectiveness, undergoing dermatological testing to ensure safety and quality. This collection represents a shift towards clothing that goes beyond aesthetics, aiming to be companions in well-being and reflections of a more mindful lifestyle.
In a strategic move to push boundaries, Coperni previously collaborated with technology company Fabrican, showcasing a daring performance involving model Bella Hadid at their Spring Summer 2023 show. The brand continues to challenge norms, incorporating elements like robot dogs assisting models during outfit changes in their Fall Winter 2023 presentation.
Moreover, Coperni’s avant-garde approach extends to using unique materials such as lunar meteorite for bags and collaborating with brands like HEVƎN to create glass bags using advanced glassblowing techniques. Notable personalities, including Gigi Hadid, Billie Eilish, and Rihanna, have been spotted wearing Coperni’s creations, highlighting the brand’s growing influence in the fashion industry.
