British Tourist Dies in Cycling Accident in Southern Spain

A British tourist has sadly passed away after a cycling accident in Spain. The 57-year-old man reportedly lost consciousness while riding on the N-340 road near Almunecar in Granada. The incident occurred on Thursday, November 6, at around 12:30 pm, but despite efforts by local police, the cyclist could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tourist, who was staying in Nerja, approximately 12 miles from the accident site, fell off his bike due to a health issue he experienced while cycling. The Civil Guard is awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death, with no indication of foul play at this stage.

The man was cycling with friends along the southern coast of Spain when the tragedy struck. Emergency responders tried to save him for about half an hour, utilizing a defibrillator in their rescue attempts. Almunecar’s Security Councillor expressed deep regret over the incident and extended condolences to the man’s loved ones.

The location of the accident is between Mateano Restaurant and Hotel California.
