Max Verstappen has seen a significant boost in his estimated wealth, with a rise of nearly £44 million in the past year, bringing his total net worth close to £230 million. The Red Bull Racing driver has made impressive progress in the ranks of Quote 500, a list of the wealthiest individuals in the Netherlands, moving up to 264th place from 322nd last year.
Despite celebrating his 28th birthday in late September, Verstappen remains the youngest individual on the list, a title he has held since his debut in 2022. Initially entering the list as the 500th person with a net worth just above £105 million, Verstappen’s ascent has been rapid, reaching the 428th position a year later and then advancing 106 places last year.
Forbes has ranked Verstappen as the 25th highest-paid athlete globally this year, with earnings approaching £59 million. A significant portion of his income comes from his salary and winnings, supplemented by £4.5 million from endorsements.
In a comparison with Lewis Hamilton, who holds the 22nd spot on the Forbes list with earnings exceeding £60 million, it is noted that Hamilton’s endorsements of £15 million propel him ahead of Verstappen, despite his salary and winnings being slightly lower.
Reports earlier this year suggested that Aston Martin had proposed a remarkable £750 million deal to Verstappen to cover the remainder of his career. Verstappen expressed his astonishment at the offer, acknowledging it as a substantial sum. He has since affirmed his commitment to Red Bull by signing a contract extension until 2028, with reports indicating the deal is valued at around £40 million per season.
