Princess Beatrice has been assigned a new role following her father’s recent loss of royal titles. The individual formerly known as Prince Andrew had all his regal designations, including Royal Highness and Prince status, revoked in recent days.
This week, King Charles officially removed Andrew’s remaining titles through a legal document called Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm. The document, published by The Gazette, the UK’s official public record, from the Crown Office, states that the former Duke of York is now legally recognized as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
Six years ago, Andrew resigned as Royal Patron of The Outward Bound Trust following his interview with BBC Newsnight’s Emily Maitlis, where he addressed allegations and his association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Despite denying all accusations, Andrew’s eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, has now been appointed Deputy Patron of the organization after serving as a Trustee for six years. Additionally, her uncle, Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, has become the new Royal Patron, following his father, Prince Philip’s, footsteps.
Beatrice, aged 37, has long been involved with youth-focused organizations, advocating for the development of confidence, resilience, and ambition in young individuals.
