“Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper to Team Up for United Cup Debut”

Date:

Emma Raducanu has made a statement regarding her selection to represent Great Britain at the upcoming United Cup in January. The young tennis star, a former US Open champion, will team up with Jack Draper for the mixed-gender event.

Both Raducanu and Draper had to end their seasons prematurely due to different reasons. Raducanu withdrew from competitions citing medical issues, while Draper had to deal with an arm injury.

This will be the first appearance for both players at the United Cup. Raducanu opted out of the Billie Jean King Cup to focus on individual tournaments in Asia but expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Draper for Team GB.

Raducanu mentioned her honor in debuting at the United Cup and the excitement of representing her country in a new format while spending extra time in Australia. Draper, too, expressed eagerness to return to competition, anticipating the draw to reveal whether Team GB will play in Perth or Sydney.

Raducanu faced challenges during the Asian swing post-US Open, encountering health issues that affected her performance. Following doctor’s advice, she withdrew from her remaining tournaments in 2025 to address her health concerns before the United Cup in January.

Draper, recovering from an arm injury post-Wimbledon, aims to make a comeback at the UTS London exhibition event in December. Raducanu is scheduled for an exhibition match against Amanda Anisimova in Miami before heading to the United Cup to kick off their 2026 seasons.

Both players are looking forward to competing at the United Cup before setting their sights on the Australian Open.
